Silk & Steel reimagines it's origins with one-of-a-kind couture collection
Marking 16 years of distinctive design, Silk & Steel is celebrating its journey with the launch of the signature Couture Collection. Silk & Steel began with collectable, handmade pieces created from vintage treasures including brooches, earrings, and jewellery fragments dating back to the 1920s, 1940s, and 1950s. 
“Couture is a celebration of our 'why' - the artistry, individuality, and stories behind each piece,” says founder and creative director Sarah Cotterall. “This collection honours our past, while pushing boundaries with future-focused, collectible design.”
Each creation in this couture collection is entirely unique and has been made in-house at the Silk & Steel studio in Auckland, New Zealand. These one-of-a-kind statement pieces seamlessly combined with collectable vintage elements with directional materials like curb chains, faux pearls and gemstones. Many of these pieces feature vintage brooches from iconic mid-century houses like Weiss, while others play with sculptural chain work, mixed metals and limited-edition artisan detailing.
