Meet the clever lady behind the brand, Anna Murray, who tells us about her beautiful luxurious label.
Tell us about Laing and when did it launch?
Laing is a premium womenswear brand of elevated, uncomplicated pieces to be worn everyday which launched in 2016.
Why did you create Laing?
Like many businesses Laing was born from frustration. I could not find premium, stylish sleep & loungewear in New Zealand. As the brand developed, I kept adding those essential pieces made from high quality fabrics and yarns that I wanted to wear everyday.
What are you main design principles for Laing?
As the brand grew into ready-to-wear, the principles of comfort & beautiful fabrics from our sleepwear range have remained at the heart of our design process. Laing's designs are modern, yet season-less and classic, allowing you to build them seamlessly into your wardrobe. Versatility is key, so that you can buy once and buy well. We also produce in small batches to reduce excess and waste. Fabrics are sourced from end of line runs that would otherwise end up as land fill. They are then carefully selected for their hand feel, durability and design - making each piece thoughtfully created, to last for years to come.
